According to plans, Mr. Eduardo Eurnekian kindly received me once again, this time to speak about Armenia. But the events unfolding in the Middle East over the past several weeks and the final ruling issued by Judge Oyarbide are unavoidable topics in this talk that developed as follows:
- Considering all that you have done in and for Armenia, I can remember with great proud and satisfaction that in 2000, you were named “Man of the Year” by SARDARABAD. Such honor was awarded to you for your outstanding contributions to the Armenian National Fund and for the updating of the National Television’s equipment, so that it keeps up with modern times, in the aftermath of the declaration of independence. After this, you offered your own private plane to transfer the relics of Saint Gregory the Illuminator all the way from the Vatican to Armenia. On returning to Yerevan -and almost still at the foot of the plane in Zvartnótz, you made the commitment of renovating the Armenian airport, with the then president Robert Kocharian. (more…)
